The volume of oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) in the current year is still ahead of the projected figures, Regional Director of BP Gordon Birrell told reporters Nov. 10.
He said that the figures for the first three quarters of 2015 are quite high.
"We expect that the production on the results of 2015 at the block will not be lower than last year," said Birrell. "Current production figures are ahead of the forecasted ones."
BP and its partners produced 16 million tons (116 million barrels) of oil at Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields in H1 of 2015, which is equal to that of H1 2014.
In 2014, British BP and partners extracted 31.5 million metric tons of oil (233 million barrels) against 32.2 million metric tons of oil (239 million barrels), extracted in 2013 on a block of Azerbaijani oil and gas fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli.
The contract for development of ACG field was signed in 1994.
The shareholders of the project are: BP (operator in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli) - 35.78 percent, Chevron - 11.27 percent, Inpex - 10.96 percent, AzACG - 11.65 percent, Statoil - 8.56 percent, Exxon - 8 percent, TPAO - 6.75 percent, Itocu - 4.3 percent and ONGC - 2.72 percent.
