Baku has a very good sports infrastructure, ideal conditions for gymnastics, and the best gyms, the Slovak gymnast, Xenia Kilianova, taking part in the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines, told Trend March 6.

Kilianova said she has had only positive impressions of the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines held in Baku, adding that the tournament is very well organized.

Kilianova sees the gymnasts from Finland and Latvia as her main rivals in the competitions, because, as she said, she can't compare herself with twice world champion from Russia, Yana Kudryavtseva.

The athlete also said she is in Baku for the third time and she really loves the city.

"Baku is a very beautiful, unusual city. Here are beautiful buildings and a magnificent boulevard," she added.

Kilianova noted that Baku is not like other cities she has visited.

"Baku is such a city, to be remembered for a lifetime," she added.

The Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines is being held in Baku on March 4-6.

This is the test championship on the eve of the First European Games.
Coming from 22 countries, 133 gymnasts compete for medals in both the all-around and individual competitions.

Such well-known gymnasts, as two-time absolute world champion Yana Kudryavtseva (Russia, rhythmic gymnastics), Olympic silver medalist Filip Ude (Croatia), European champion Alexander Shatilov (Israel, both - sports gymnastics) and other athletes have arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku.
