An earthquake, measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale, occurred on Friday in the Turkish part of the Aegean Sea near to the Saros Bay, Dogan agency reported.

An earthquake, measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale, occurred on Friday in the Turkish part of the Aegean Sea near to the Saros Bay, Dogan agency reported.

According to the Kandilli Observatory of Bogazici University and Earthquake Research Institute, the tremor occurred at 03:36 local time.

Turkey is located in a seismically active zone. The most powerful vibrations of the earth's crust in this country occurred in the Marmara Sea in 1999. The magnitude of the tremors was 7.4. About 18,000 people killed in the earthquake.
