Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 February / Trend / On 1 February, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva visited the gala-concert of the winners of the Television Competition Mugam-2007 which took place in the Opera and Ballet Theatre. The competition took over three months and was organized within the framework of the project of the Foundation of the Friends of the Azerbaijani Culture with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
After the concert the President met with the young mugam performers. He congratulated them on the completion of the competition and voiced his hope that the young mugam performers would please the Azerbaijani people with their talents and would develop their professionalism. "During three months the Azerbaijani people watched the competition. Despite the rivalry, you managed to take the leading places. That is a great achievement. I am sure you will please the Azerbaijani people even more in future and will improve your professionalism," the President said.
