Turkey's initiative for the exchange of nuclear fuel for Iran in Turkey is very important and indicates the increasing role of this country in world politics, " Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the press conference in Ak Orda.
"Turkey has made a very important initiative for the exchange of uranium for Iran, because it gives an opportunity to solve an existing problem. This was an important initiative of Turkey, which testifies about its increasing role in world politics, " Nazarbayev said
Iran and Turkey signed an agreement on exchange of 1,200 kg of low enriched uranium for a 20-percent fuel in Turkey May 17. Iranian low enriched uranium can be delivered to Turkey during a month after the signing of an agreement between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
