Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's election program will be known as "Kazakhstan 2030" with the slogan, "Let's build the future together."
"My vision of the future path is outlined in the strategy of Kazakhstan up to 2030, the strategic development plan for our country until 2020 and my recent message to the people. This will be our election platform," Nazarbayev said speaking at a congress of Kazakhstan's ruling People's Democratic Party Nur Otan on Friday.
Party Nur Otan nominated Nazarbayev as its candidate for the April snap presidential elections in its congress today.
The president's message to the people invited to implement a new social policy in Kazakhstan. "High income, good health, comfortable housing, and active labor orientations are components of the competitiveness of the person, so I'd like to see every citizen of Kazakhstan," Nazarbayev said.
Nazarbayev said he has fulfilled all the tasks in the election program of 2005.
"I can say in confidence that all the tasks that I put in his election platform in 2005 have been fulfilled," Nazarbayev said. "For 5 years we have achieved ahead of schedule what we had planned to do in 7."
The president noted a qualitative increase in welfare among the achievements.
"The current rate of GDP per citizen at $9,000 we [had] hoped to achieve only by 2012. According to this indicator, Kazakhstan is in the top three countries," Nazarbayev said.
The planned growth of the average wage, pensions and benefits have been reached two years earlier. The country implemented a large-scale program of promoting agriculture. Kazakhstan came in first place in the world for the flour export and the 7th for wheat export.
Moreover, over the past 5 years, Nazarbayev said, the country developed infrastructure, built new energy facilities, new power lines, and increased the supply of electricity to the southern regions where there is a shortage of electricity.
Among the achievements, Nazarbayev also named the construction of transcontinental highways: Western Europe-Western China highway length 2,700 kilometers, the Khorgos-Zhetygen railway and the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway.
Nazarbayev considers the union of parties in Kazakhstan as important to preserve the trend of progressive development.
"The logic of political struggle involves fierce competition. Competition tempers party and does not give cause for complacency. But, to strengthen our independence and achieve national prosperity all parties in Kazakhstan should be united," he said naming it a global trend.
Nazarbayev called on the people to learn exactly this kind of competition, noting that only then will democracy develop in Kazakhstan.
Also in his speech, Nazarbayev raised the issue of arbitrariness of the officials in Kazakhstan and called Nur Otan to fight it.
"We public servants should serve rather than to show off the head of the ordinary people," Nazarbayev said, which led to loud applause in the hall.
