BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. TURKPA (Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States) honors the cherished memory of Azerbaijani martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland with deep respect, Trend reports via a statement from TURKPA in connection with Remembrance Day.
"September 27 is observed in Azerbaijan as a Day of Remembrance, as an expression of deep respect for the memory of the martyrs who demonstrated heroism in the 44-day Second Karabakh War of 2020, sacrificing their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The will of the Azerbaijani people, the perseverance, and the unmatched bravery of the victorious Azerbaijani army, led by the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, have inscribed a unique event into modern history — the great victory," the TURKPA statement emphasized.
According to the decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, Azerbaijan annually celebrates Remembrance Day on September 27 as a sign of deep respect for Azerbaijani soldiers and officers who heroically fought in the 44-day Second Karabakh War and gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
