Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Jewish community of Azerbaijan with the New Year holiday Rosh-Ha-Shana, Trend reports. In his letter the President noted the feeling of national ethnic and religious tolerance. In this respect Azerbaijan can be a model for many countries, the President stated.
The Jewish community, who has been residing in Azerbaijan for many centuries, is an inseparable part of the community and society of the Country. As a society fighting for equal rights, the Jews take an active part in all areas of the Country's economic, socio-cultural and public-political life, and assist in enlightening the World about Azerbaijani realities and the development of international relationships.
Rosh-Ha-Shana, a national holiday of renewal and moral purity, is solemnly celebrated by the Jewish community of Azerbaijan every year.
