Experts of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Should Agree upon Text of Credit Agreement on Tbilisi-Baku-Kars Project  Transport Ministry

On January 23, the experts of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey should agree upon the text of the credit agreement on the project on construction of the railway Tbilisi-Baku-Kars, Trend reports with reference to the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan. According to the representatives of the Ministry, Azerbaijan will present $200 mln credit to Georgia, with interest rate of 1%.

This credit will be returned from the revenues, except operational expenses (expenses on exploitation, etc.), of the Georgian organization which receives the credit, the same source said.

Georgian delegation headed by the Chief of the Railways, Irakli Ezukbay, has arrived to Baku to discuss the details of the project. The delegation includes the representatives of the Georgian Ministries of Finance and Justice.

The project on the building transport railway corridor Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku includes the construction of railway line Kars-Akhalkalaki with the length of 98 km. 68 km of it will be on the Turkish territory and 30 km вЂ" on the territory of Georgia. Reconstruction work is needed on railway section of Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi. The value of the projects is estimated at $400 mln.
