Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend A.Badalova / The exhibition-competition for young artists was held by the Baku office of the OSCE in the Mingachevir region of Azerbaijan on 21 June. Some forty school boys were rewarded for their pictures on how they perceive policemen.

It was the first competition on such a topic in the country. The main purpose of the event is to improve relations between policemen and civil society.

"The pictures in the exhibition demonstrated how Azerbaijani children view policemen," said Robin Sivord, the Deputy of the OSCE representation in Baku.

"The pictures of the children help us to concentrate our attention on children and the general population," Mehmet Erdem, the expert of the OSCE noted.

The country's well-known painters also attended the exhibition.

The most-highly received paintings will appear on posters, postcards, and calendars at future exhibitions.
