Iran, Syria and Iraq will sign agreement to export and transit gas from South Pars through Iraq , Syria to Lebanon, Mediterranean sea and European countries, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Deputy Oil Minister Javad Ouji as saying.
"Currently negotiations with officials of Iran, Syria and Iraq continue to decide a date for signing the agreement in Tehran," he said.
He noted , that during latest meeting between officials reached final agreement to sign the agreement.
It's expected a foreign companies and a consortium formed by Iran, Syria and Iraq provides part of financial sources of gas pipeline project and international consultant implement the pipeline construction.
The project requires investment from $5 billion to $6 billion and will be constructed during three years.
The pipeline length is more than 1,500 kilometers, from Assaloyeh to Damascus with transfer capacity of 110 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
