Azerbaijan is an important country for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Regional Manager for Consulting Services on Europe and Central Asia Jesper Kjaer told press on Thursday.
"The fact that the country is now among countries with a middle income has not reduced our interest", he said. "We will increase our activity in the country."
The IFC is interested in attracting foreign investments to Azerbaijan and facilitating economic diversification, including non-oil sector development and cooperation with the financial sector, Kjaer said.
"We are also continuing work to improve the business environment in the country," he added.
The IFC is continuing negotiations with local companies, Kjaer said.
