The total assets of Uzbek commercial banks increased by 18 percent in January-June 2012 and amounted to 32.4 trillion sums compared to 2011, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said on Monday.
The total loan portfolio of banks increased by 16.3 percent since early 2012 and amounted to 18.2 trillion sums. The aggregate bank capital rose by 6.9 percent - to 5.7 trillion sums in six months as of July 1, 2012.
The total amount of deposits attracted by banks amounted to about 20 trillion sums increasing by 10.9 percent in January-June 2012.
The Uzbek banking system is represented by 30 banks, including three state, five - with foreign capital, 12 - joint stock and 10 - private.
Total assets of Uzbek banks increased by 32.4 percent and amounted to 27.45 trillion sums in 2011 compared to 2010, the total loan portfolio - 35.6 percent up to 15.65 trillion sums, the aggregate bank capital - by 30 percent - up to 5.334 trillion sums.
