French CIFAL to participate in wide-scale projects in Turkmenistan

The French company CIFAL is going to participate in the realization of wide scale projects in Turkmenistan, CIFAL general director Gilles Remy said at the meeting with the president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the government of Turkmenistan announced.

"Gilles Remy confirmed the intention of CIFAL to participate actively in realization of new widescale projects initiated by the president of Turkmenistan", the report says.

Perspectives of co-operation in fuel-energy sector, spheres of construction infrastructure and civil aviation were covered during the meeting.

According to the provided information, the French businessman mentioned the "exclusive attractiveness of the Turkmen market for global business provided by intensive dynamics of the socio-economic development of the country and favorable investment climate created there".

CIFAL has been present on the Turkmen market for 20 years. It was recently announced that the company started to pay attention to agricultural sphere, cotton cultivation in particular.

In general, French companies are already broadly represented in such spheres as construction, transport, tourism, energy sector, space technologies. Schneider Electric, VINCI Construction, Bouygues, Thales International and others are among those companies

Co-operation in fuel and energy complex is especially important. Total, the fourth largest oil and gas company in the world, can be attracted to extraction of oil and gas in Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and to research the possibilities of gas transportation from Turkmenistan to Europe. Gas de France also expressed its interest in co-operation.
