Share of machine-building industry increases to 20 per cent in Uzbekistan

The share of the machine-building industry in a total volume of industrial production increased to 19.7 per cent in Uzbekistan in January -September 2013. The figure was 16.6 per cent in the same period of last year, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said today.

According to the committee, the country has produced 196,400 cars since early 2013, or 10.3 per cent more compared to the same period of last year. Truck production increased by 74.2 per cent, buses by 14.4 per cent, specialised vehicles by 49.7 per cent and passenger cars by 9.7 per cent.

Motor vehicle production has increased by 14.7 times, vehicle bodies by 9.4 times and trailers and semi-trailers - two-fold.

Moreover, the production of agricultural machinery namely balers was three-fold, tractors - 2.3 times, tractor trailers - by 1.7 times, combine harvesters - 46.4 per cent, cultivators - by 11.5 per cent significantly increased.

The total cost of products manufactured by machine-building enterprises reached 8.638 trillion soums in current prices, or by 24.7 per cent more than in the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee reported.

It was reported that in general industrial output increased by 9.4 per cent in Uzbekistan in January -September this year.
