Over 450 tons of non-oil gods worth $170 million were exported from Iran's northern port city of Astara in the first seven months of the current year, which started on March 21, the head of Astara Custom Administration said.
"Agricultural products, cement, chemicals, handicrafts, textile, shoes, bags, carpet, construction materials, mineral products, metals, and plastic products were the main exported items," the Fars News /agency quoted Jahangir Bakhshi as saying.
He named Russia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan as the main destinations for the exported items.
According to Bakhishi, 33 tons of goods worth $90 million were also transited via Astara in the mentioned period.
The goods were transited from Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, and Azerbaijan to Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.
