Turkey is interested in joint mobile phone production with Japan, head of the Turkish State Agency for Information and Communication Technologies Typhoon Akarer was quoted today by the Turkish newspaper Zaman as saying.
Turkey created all conditions for drawing foreign investments. Japanese firms could take advantage of this opportunity given the great demand for mobile phones in the country.
Akarer also stressed that Turkey annually imports 17.5 million mobile phones.
"Some 60 percent of imported mobile phones fall to smartphones," he said.
