Construction materials export from Azerbaijan to Georgia increases

The volume of construction materials export from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 4.02 percent in a year.

The volume of construction materials export from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 4.02 percent in a year, a report of GruzStat (the National Statistical Service of Georgia) on foreign trade said.

Around 12,160 tons of plaster and other anhydrites worth $2.07 million were exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in Jan.-Feb. 2014 (or 1,180 tons more than the same period of 2013), according to the report. By comparison, around 10,980 tons of construction materials worth $1.99 million were exported to Georgia in Jan.-Feb. 2013.

The specific weight of construction materials in the total volume of export from Azerbaijan to Georgia amounted to 1.83 percent during the reporting period.

In total, Georgia imported about $113.19 million worth of products from Azerbaijan in Jan.-Feb. 2014. The volume of import from Azerbaijan to Georgia has increased by 15.49 percent during the reporting period. By comparison, Georgia imported some $98.01 million worth of Azerbaijani products in Jan.-Feb. 2013.

Azerbaijan ranks second among the countries from which Georgia imports products. The specific weight of Azerbaijani import in the total volume of imports to the country is 10 percent.
