Some 91.7 percent of the total volume of insurance premiums collected in Jan. 2016 accounted for ten major insurance companies in Azerbaijan, a message of the State Insurance Supervision Service of the country's Finance Ministry said.
PASHA Insurance company, the share of which amounted to 35.22 million Azerbaijani manats - 46.2 percent of the total volume of collected insurance premiums during the reporting period, headed the ranking on the results of Jan. 2016.
The official exchange rate is 1.6019 AZN/$1 as of March 4.
The company is followed by Silk Way Insurance - 8.59 million manats (11.3 percent) of the market's total collections and PASHA Life Insurance - 7.11 million manats (9.3 percent).
Ateshgah Life, Qala Life and PASHA Life companies, which engaged in life insurance in Azerbaijan, are also in the top ten, said the message.
In Jan. 2016, the operating insurance companies in Azerbaijan collected 76.3 million manats, which is 21.3 percent more than the same period of 2015.
In total, 25 insurance companies operate in Azerbaijan.
