Kazakhstan to add more vessels to its river fleet

The construction of 3 vessels of Kazakh state technical river fleet is expected to be completed in December 2017, the Ministry of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan said in a message.

One dredging and two auxiliary vessels will be put into operation by the end of the year, according to the ministry. The construction of the vessels has started in 2014.

Currently, Kazakhstan’s technical river fleet consists of 156 vessels. In 2017 Kazakh government signed documents on construction of 10 more vessels including, 1 unit of dredging vessel and 6 auxiliary vessels by 2020.

They will be located in the Irtysh basin - in Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions.

The relevant measures on update of the state fleet are being carried out as part of the "Nurly Zhol" State Program. The government has allocated 433.2 million tenge for this purpose in 2017.
