Grain reserves in Kazakhstan decreasing

In January 2018, the level of grain stocks in Kazakhstan declined in almost all regions except Almaty, where grain reserves increased from 6,838 to 7,183 tons.

The largest decline of grain reserves was indicated in the three largest spots - the North-Kazakhstan, Akmola and Kostanay regions, Kazakh media outlets reported.

Presently, the Akmola region is leading in terms of grain reserves in Kazakhstan, followed by the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions.

As of December 1, grain reserves in Kazakhstan amounted to 17.7 million tons of grain, decreasing by 2.3 tons or by 11.5 percent in November. In December 2017 Kazakhstan produced 16.1 tons of grain, which is a 1.5 million tons or 8.7 percent decrease compared to previous month, according to the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan.

In January 2018, Kazakhstan produced 14,207,779 tons of grain, which is 1.9 tons or 12.2 percent less compared to December 2017.
