Iran's cement industry was stable last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018) and this industry is expected to develop this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Secretary of the Iranian Cement Industry Employers Association Abdul Reza Sheikhan said.
The export of cement decreased last Iranian year, Sheikhan added, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
Iran exports cement to 17 countries, including Central Asian countries, African countries, countries of Persian Gulf and Bangladesh, he said.
He expressed hope that a number of problems in the cement industry, including the problem of cement price reduction, will be solved this year.
Sheikhan said that Iran's cement industry brings both income and prevents taking the foreign currency out of the country.
Some 50 kilograms of cement cost about $2 in Iran.
