Iran’s copper production capacity will reach 400,000 tons by the end of this Iranian year (March 21, 2020), Managing Director of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company Ardashir Sad Mohammadi, Trend reports citing ISNA.
He said that Iran ranks 8th in the world in terms of copper reserves.
He added that Iran’s total copper reserves amount to 7.21 billion tons and net copper reserves estimated at 34.5 million tons. This is 4.15 percent of the world reserves, he said.
“The goal is to produce 260,000 tons of copper cathode this year and more than 300,000 tons of copper cathode next Iranian year (March 21, 2020 - March 21, 2021),” he added.
