Vegetable products cost up by over 20% in Kazakhstan

Prices of agriculture goods sold by agriculture goods manufacturers increased by 10.2 percent in September 2019 compared to December 2018 and by 17.4 percent compared to September 2018, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakh Statistics Committee.

The cost of plant growing increased by 12.5 percent compared to December 2018 and by 20.2 percent compared to September 2018. In turn, the cost of animal husbandry goods increased by 3.9 percent compared to December and by 10.2 percent compared to September of last year.

From January to September 2019, the increase of pricing has been observed on wheat by 22.7 percent, barley by 9.7 percent, corn by 7.5 percent, oats by 5.4 percent, rice by 2.8 percent, rye by 2.2 percent, and buckwheat decreased by 4.3 percent.

Cabbage prices went up by 4.2 percent, onions by 2 percent, beetroot by 1.8 percent, carrots by 1.6 percent, whereas prices of cucumbers fell by 20.5 percent, potatoes by 1 percent.

Prices for dried peas increased by 22.4 percent, sunflower seeds by 16 percent, whereas prices of dried lentils decreased by 9 percent.

Cost of cattle meat increased by 7.7 percent, horse meat by 6.9 percent, sheep meet by 6.5 percent, pork by 4.3 percent, poultry meat by 2.5 percent.

Raw milk pricing went up by 1.9 percent, and sheep’s wool pricing fell by 21.2 percent, eggs by 2.9 percent, honey by 1.7 percent.
