Over the past year, Uzbekistan has implemented reforms that allowed it to enter the top 20 countries that have made the most progress in improving the business climate, Trend reports citing the new annual report of the World Bank (WB) Group “Doing Business 2020”.
Of the 190 countries in the ranking of ease of doing business, Uzbekistan is on the 69th line. Compared with last year, the country rose by seven positions.
The Top 3 lists include New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Georgia was in 7th place, Kazakhstan - in 25th, and Russia in 28th.
It is noted that over the past three years, Uzbekistan has risen in the Doing Business ranking by 18 positions.
The Doing Business 2020 report records legislative changes in 10 business areas based on an analysis of the situation in 190 countries. Such changes are estimated for the 12-month period ending May 1, 2019.
By 2025, Uzbekistan plans to enter the top 20 of this list.
