By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Some 24,300 tons of road bitumen were produced at an oil refinery in Seydi city in eastern Turkmenistan from January through September 2019, which is 3,500 tons more than the set volume, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Oil state concern.

The growth rate reached 112 percent compared to the previous year.

The road bitumen production facility was commissioned by Westport Trading Europe Limited (US). The design capacity is to process 118,000 tons of fuel oil and produce 37,200 tons of road bitumen annually.

The products of the refinery are traditionally exported to neighboring Uzbekistan. Over 8,000 tons were shipped to the neighboring country by railway this year. In accordance with the bilateral agreement, 10,000 tons of bitumen will be supplied to Uzbekistan’s Kiziltepe and Bukhara railway stations.

The products of the Seydi oil refinery are also supplied to lay roads in Turkmenistan’s Ahal, Lebap and Mary provinces.
