Exports via Bilasuvar customs of Iran increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29

Product exports increased by 10 percent via Bilasuvar customs of Ardabil province in northwestern Iran in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the year before last (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), said Governor of Bilasuvar district of Ardabil province Hasan Gobadi, Trend reports referring to Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Gobadi, about 151,000 tons of products worth $107 million were exported via Bilasuvar customs in the reporting period.

Gobadi added that these products were exported to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia.

"The exported products were mainly glass, ceramics, rubber products, metal tools and potatoes," he said.

The governor said that more than 26,000 tons of products worth $85 million were exported to Azerbaijan as part of portfolio trade last year, and the exports increased by 20 percent.

Gobadi added that as many as 1.42 million people crossed the Bilasuvar border last Iranian year. About 1.32 million of them were Azerbaijani citizens and 100,000 were Iranian citizens. Meanwhile, a 10-percent decrease in the passage of citizens through the customs was observed.
