Iran's copper production decreases

The copper extraction in Iran decreased by 13 percent in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - May 20, 2020), compared to the same period last year, as stated in the report of information service (codal.ir) under the Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran, Trend reports.

According to the report, Iran extracted 26.9 million tons of copper in the first two months of current Iranian year.

“About 14.8 million tons of copper were extracted in the second month (April 20-May 20). This is a decrease of 5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” report added.

According to report, the production of copper concentrate in two months exceeded 209,000 tons. This is an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period of last year.

“The anode copper production stood at 61,600 tons for two months. This is an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” report noted.

According to the report, the cathode copper production exceeded 43,000 tons in 2 months, but this is a decrease of 4 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.
