The Azerbaijani Az-Granata company plans to export $1.5 million worth of its products till the end of 2020, Head of Az-Granata’s export department, Tural Hajiyev, told Trend.

This year, most of the alcoholic beverages were exported to Turkey - in the amount of $1.02 million, said Hajiyev.

“In 2021, we’re going to increase export and production by modernizing the equipment and output technologies,” the head said.

The company’s representative noted that the company has 350 hectares of pomegranate orchards located in the Aghsu district of Azerbaijan, adding that the productivity of pomegranate products is growing steadily every year.

“Among the company’s products, the greatest demand is for pomegranate concentrate. In the past years, the production and export of these products have tripled. In recent years, the demand for pomegranate juices, cognacs, and wines has also been accelerating. Due to the increase in the number of countries wishing to import the company’s pomegranate products, the production volume is also being increased. Currently, according to statistics, the monthly volume of production is 500,000 units of finished products. We also intend to grow the company’s production by 15-20 percent by the end of 2020,” Hajiyev said.

The department’s head emphasized that the current export figures exceed the last year's by 85 percent.

Az-Granata plant, built-in 2011 and covering a 12.5 hectare-area, is one of the biggest producers of alcoholic beverages in the South Caucasus. Besides cognac and wine, the company produces liqueurs, vodka, as well as fruit juices.
