Export operations between Azerbaijan and Australia greatly increase

By early December 2020, the export of goods from Azerbaijan to Australia amounted to $70.7 million, while a year earlier this figure was only $40.1 million (an increase of 76.3 percent), Trend reports with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The share of Australia in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 0.22 percent to 0.54 percent.

The import between the two countries amounted to 0.04 percent or $3.5 million of the total volume compared to 2.38 percent in the same period of 2019.

In general, as of early December 2020, the volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Australia reached $74.1 million, which is 4.5 times less than in the same period of 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries during the reporting period became positive and amounted to $67.2 million.

By early December 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $22.7 billion. More than $13 billion (57.42 percent) of that amount accounted for export while $9.7 billion (42.58 percent) - for import.
