TOP-5 trading partners of Azerbaijan in Jan. 2021

Azerbaijan's trade turnover with five main trading partners amounted to $1.52 billion or 63 percent of the country's total trade turnover in January 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the country’s State Customs Committee (SCC).

Italy has retained the status of Azerbaijan's largest trade partner with a trade turnover of $743.9 million, with a specific share of 30.85 percent. It is followed by Turkey - $261.1 million (a share - 10.83 percent), China - $216.2 million (8.97 percent), Russia - $159.8 million (6.63 percent) and Ukraine - $144.6 million (6 percent).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased most of its products from Russia - for $115.1 million (the share of all imports is 14.62 percent). It is followed by: Turkey - $114.3 million (14.52 percent). China - $109.3 million (13.89 percent) Germany - $90.8 million (11.54 percent) and the US - $44.8 million (5.7 percent).

Italy again became the main consumer of Azerbaijani products during Jan. 2021, purchasing the Azerbaijani goods in the amount of $722.5 million (44.49 percent of all exports). Turkey is next - $146.8 million (9.04 percent). Spain - $138.5 million (8.53 percent) Ukraine - $115.5 million (7.12 percent) and India - about $109 million (6.72 percent).

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in January 2021 amounted to $2.41 billion.

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $1.62 billion. The share of exports amounted to 67.34 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover.

Imports to Azerbaijan in January 2021 amounted to $787 million. The share of imports in the total turnover amounted to 32.66 percent of the total.
