Exports of Iran via customs of Mazandaran Province grow

Iran’s exports through the customs of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 18 percent in terms of value and 16 percent in terms of volume during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director-General of Mazandaran Province Customs Office, Ali Yousefimanesh said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general emphasized that 301,000 tons of goods worth $74.6 million were exported during the reporting period.

"So, Iran exported $23.2 million worth of milk and dairy products, $13.2 million worth of rubber products, $10.7 million worth of various food products, $5.39 million worth of cement, $3.34 million worth of wood materials via customs of Mazandaran Province in the 4 months. These goods were exported to 33 countries, including Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Romania and Afghanistan, through the customs of Noshahr, Amirabad, Fereidoonkenar, Sari and Amol in Mazandaran Province," he added.

Yousefimanesh said that moreover, 1.03 million tons of goods worth $434 million were imported through the province's customs within the four months.

According to him, $146 million worth of corn feed, $124 million worth of animal fats and vegetable oils, corn feed worth $76 million, $31 million worth of equipment and spare parts, and $28.7 million worth of wheat were imported through the customs of the Mazandaran Province.

"Over the past four months, 45,000 tons of goods worth $44.4 million were transited through province customs. These goods (empty container, oil coke, drilling rig) were transited in direction to Pakistan, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. The transits increased by 100 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year," the director general noted.

Yousefimanesh stressed that customs revenues of Mazandaran Province for the first 4 months increased by 59 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 1.76 trillion rials (about $42 million).
