BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. More than 2.6 million tons of goods worth $1.42 billion were exported from the Razavi Khorasan (north-eastern Iran), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province Amir Reza Rajabi said, Trend reports citing the organization.

The chairman noted that the province's exports increased by 6 percent in value, while decreased by 5 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).

Rajabi added that the exported goods were mainly iron and steel products, saffron, pistachios, apples, potatoes, polystyrene, ferrochrome, sweets, biscuits, white cement and etc.

"The province's goods were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Spain, Russia, Turkey, the Netherlands, India, Oman, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria," he said.

According to Rajabi, moreover, 229,000 tons of goods worth $579 million were imported to the province last Iranian year. Imports increased by about 53 percent in value and 25 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, a total of 2.68 million tons of goods worth $1.3 billion exported from Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province, while imported 188,000 tons worth $379 million to the province.
