Iranian ministry discloses data on projects for foreign investments (Exclusive)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has given the green light to foreign investments worth $132 million into the country, oriented on selected 52 projects, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), the ministry told Trend.

According to the report, foreign investment in Iran within the mentioned four months decreased by 66 percent in value, while the amount of projects themselves increased by about 6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, the ministry said, during the same period last Iranian year, the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran approved the inflow of foreign investments worth $388 million for 49 projects.

As a result, a number of facilities have been put into operation, backed by $48.1 million worth of investments.:

industrial facilities - within 17 projects worth $24.3 million,

mining facilities - 5 projects worth $8.5 million,

commercial facilities - 3 projects worth $15.2 million

In addition, certain facilities are being built in Iran within the framework of 27 projects worth $83.4 million.

The most investments in value were made by businessmen of Türkiye ($34.8 million), India ($25.5 million), Afghanistan ($21.8 million), China ($14.5 million) and Germany ($12.4 million).

About 36 percent of total foreign investments were invested in Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province, 36 percent - in Hormozgan Province, 15 percent - in Tehran Province, 8 percent - in Alborz Province and 5 percent -in Qazvin Province.
