BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. Iran's raw steel production increased by 17 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Within 5 months, Iran produced 12.6 million tons of raw steel.
Meanwhile, in the same period the last Iranian year, the country’s raw steel production amounted to 10.8 million tons.
At the same time, 9.05 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran over five months, which is an increase of 20 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, the figure stood at 7.57 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, Iran produced about 14.6 million tons of sponge iron in 5 months.
This is an increase of 19 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year. Thus, sponge iron production in Iran amounted to nearly 12.3 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
