BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Generally, Iran exported raw steel and steel products to 56 countries during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), an official of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Amir Sabbagh told IRNA, Trend reports.
As reported, Iran exported a total of 2.94 million tons of raw steel and 1.42 million tons of steel products in 6 months.
“Some 21.7 percent of Iran's raw steel and steel products were exported to Iraq, 15.3 percent to Indonesia, 15.1 percent to China, 9.4 percent to Thailand, 8.1 percent to Oman, 7 8 percent to the UAE, 4.6 percent to Türkiye, and 2.9 percent to Ghana,” Sabbagh said.
The official added that in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22), Iran’s raw steel and steel exports amounted to 767,000 tons.
He noted that the value of the country’s raw steel and steel products for 6 months was about $5.63 billion.
