Iran removes ban on export of steel and mineral products to Iraq - Chamber of Commerce

TEHRAN, Iran, November 12. Iran has lifted the ban on the export of chemical and mineral materials, as well as steel, and organic fertilizers to Iraq, Secretary general of Iran and Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi told Trend.

"The restrictions on the export of mineral and steel products have been annulled," he said, adding that that the country would subsequently compensate for the decline of export to Iraq in the second half of the Iranian year (started March 21, 2022).

Restrictions on export of chemical materials, steel, organic, and mineral fertilizers have been partly lifted in the past three weeks, he said.

Iran’s commodity exports to Iraq have declined considerably in the first seven months of the current Iranian year but the export is predicted to grow in the upcoming months, Sanjabi said.

According to the official, Iran’s export to Iraq was valued at $8.8 billion in the past Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), and has been predicted to increase to $10 billion by the end of the current Iranian year.
