Iran sees decline in aluminum ingots output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Iran's aluminum ingots output decreased by 2.3 percent, during the first four months the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the period last year, Trend reports.

As indicated in the data of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), four Iranian aluminum companies produced 218,532 tons of aluminum ingots in 4 months.

Thus, Iran’ South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 97,124 tons of aluminum ingots, Iranian Aluminum Company – 58,811 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 50,074 tons, and the Iran Alumina Company – 12,523 tons within the mentioned period.

At the same time, Iran Alumina Company produced 82,548 tons of aluminum oxide for 4 months, which is an increase of 2 percent compared to 80,896 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Also, the Iranian Alumina Company produced 170,973 tons of bauxite in 4 months.

On average, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is about 700,000 tons.

Meanwhile, 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots were produced by four Iranian aluminum companies over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 12.9 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
