BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Iran’s local production dropped by 27.1 percent in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, the country manufactured 607 buses over the course of eight months.
In the corresponding period last Iranian year, Iran’s domestic bus manufacturing stood at 833 vehicles.
During the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran produced 116 buses domestically, representing a 19.4-percent decline from 144 units in the same month the previous year.
Meanwhile, 1,391 local buses were produced in Iran within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 88 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 882,471 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in 8 months. This is an increase of 17.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
