Global Finance Magazine rated International Bank as Best Bank in Azerbaijan

Global Finance Magazine rated the Azerbaijan International Bank (AIB) as the best bank in Azerbaijan in its annual rating The World's Best Banks. TBC BANK (Georgia) was rated as the best bank in the Caucasian countries, Trend reports with reference to the statement of the same magazine. The Vneshtorbank (Russia), Kazkommerztsbank (Kazakhstan) and Demir Kyrgyz International Bank (Kyrgyzstan) were rated by the magazine as the best banks in the CIS countries.

The key selection criteria used by the specialists of the Global Finance is the bank's profitability, its strategic relations and its application of new services.

For the first half-year of 2006, the revenues of the AIB equaled AZN 16,914 mln, an increase of 68.4%. The incomes of the bank reached AZN 81,266 mln. Until 1 July, the assets of AIB increased by 46,5%, and reached AZN 1333,167 mln. For the end of 2001, the assets of the AIB amounted to AZN 333,591 mln. The credit portfolio of the bank for the reported period totaled AZN 746,161 mln, and gross amount of the deposits of juridical and physical persons AZN 1164,011 mln. The deposit portfolio of the bank for the end of 2001 equaled AZN 313,677 mln.
