By the end of 2006, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) intends to renew the talks with the Azerbaijani Government regarding the credit for micro and agricultural financing, Trend reports with reference to the ADB Baku Office. The government refused to obtain the credit under state guarantee, asking the Bank to change the structure of using the credits and transferring it to the private sector.

The ADB stated its readiness to present credit amounting to $25 mln, with the future increase up to $100 mln. The credit was intended for the development of the micro-financing and regional branch networks of the banks and their operations. The component included in the project, which intended the development of the banking infrastructure, caused the delay of agreeing the project in the government, and later led to the refuse to obtain the credit under state guarantee.

In relation with the changes to the project, the possibility of changing the amount of the credit is not excluded.
