Azerbaijan, Baku, November/ Trend , corr E. Ismayilov/ SOCAR plans to put into operation a new tank farm in the Oil Rocks oil and gas extracting unit (OGEU), s source in SOCAR said.
"If weather permits, tank farm will be put into operation in time," a source said.
Construction of new tank farm is carried out on the sea and therefore speed of the construction work depends on weather conditions. At the moment four farms are being built. A ground is also being prepared to install the other two farms.
A total of six new farms are planned to be installed in OGEU, one of which will be used to separate crude. The capacity of each farm makes up 2,000 tons, diameter - 15 m and height - 12 m.
According to estimations of SOCAR geologists, oil reserves of Oil Rocks field totals to 30 million tons. SOCAR plans to drill 78 new wells and build new platforms.
