In order to ensure the release of diesel fuel in accordance with Euro 5 standards in 2021, before the commissioning of new installations, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will conduct a small reconstruction at the existing equipment of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery, manager of the refinery’s modernization and reconstruction project Nihal Allahverdiyev said during a press tour to the plant, Trend reports.
He said that the purpose of the reconstruction is to ensure reliable operation of the installations in the next 4-5 years.
Allahverdiyev also noted that the production of gasoline according to Euro 5 standards at the plant will be carried out after the production of high-quality diesel fuel begins.
Currently, six installations are operating at the refinery: ELOU-AVT, catalytic cracking, catalytic reforming, naphtha hydrotreating, gas oil hydrotreating and coking.
“As a result of modernization and reconstruction at the refinery, 17 installations will operate in 2021 and 24 in 2025,” he said.
