The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 20.8 percent in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of this, 6.99 million tons were loaded and 5.5 million tons were unloaded.
“About 4.69 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fourth month, which is an increase of 30.1 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2.89 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 1.8 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 32.5 percent, while the unloaded products - by 26.5 percent compared to the same month of the preceding Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In addition, 2.46 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is an increase of 48.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 2.3 million tons were unloaded and 162,000 tons were loaded.
According to the statistics, about 1.11 million tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the fourth month, which is an increase of 58.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 44,000 tons were unloaded and about 1.06 million tons were loaded.
“At the same time, about 1.57 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is a decrease of 17.2 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 161,000 tons were unloaded and 1.41 million tons were loaded,” the statistics said.
Within the fourth month, 46,400 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports, which is an increase of 76.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 42,200 tons were unloaded and 4,170 tons were loaded.
According to the statistics, 414,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 89.6 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 50,000 tons were unloaded and about 364,000 tons were loaded.
“Furthermore, 64,900 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the fourth month, that is a decrease of 50.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 63,400 tons of goods were unloaded and 1,540 tons were loaded,” the statistics said.
As well as, 500,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the Iranian period during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 3.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 250,000 tons were unloaded and 250,000 tons were loaded, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 1.63 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month, which is a decrease of 0.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. About 791,000 tons of products were unloaded and 839,000 tons were loaded.
“Moreover, about 5.97 million tons of goods were exported and 3.06 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the fourth month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Also, 381,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 228,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 551,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.02 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 4th month. Also, 71,200 tons of cargo were loaded and 103,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.
“Over the third month, about 7,520 tons of cargo were loaded and 82,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
