Iran eyes increase in activities in Chabahar port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 16 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2021), compared to the 7th month (September 23 through October 22,2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 529,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the eighth month. Of this, 99,400 tons were loaded and 429,000 tons were unloaded.

Also, 99,700 tons of cargo were exported and 323,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 618 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit in the 8th month.

According to the statistics, 105,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the eighth month.

At the same time, 1,740 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes.

About 318,000 tons of essential products, 97,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,300 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 13 tons of chemicals, 425 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 86 tons of small and assorted products, 6,460 tons of container products and 105,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.1 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the eighth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.7 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 13.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
