The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 8.8 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of this, 6.28 million tons were loaded and 5.64 million tons were unloaded.
“About 3.83 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the ninth month, which is an increase of 1.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2.15 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 1.68 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products decreased by 21 percent, while unloaded products increased by 58.3 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In addition, 2.44 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is an increase of 23.6 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 221,000 tons were loaded and 2.22 million tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, about 678,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the ninth month, which is a decrease of 27.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 652,000 tons were loaded and about 25,900 tons were unloaded.
“At the same time, about 1.95 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is an increase of 1.4 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 1.72 million tons were loaded and 228,000 tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.
Within the 9th month, 46,100 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports. This is an increase of 63.7 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 7,080 tons were loaded and 39,100 tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, 405,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 45.7 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 284,000 tons were loaded and about 121,000 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, about 137,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the ninth month, which is an increase of 138 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 4,020 tons of goods were loaded and 113,000 tons were unloaded.
A total of 761,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 53.6 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 342,000 tons were loaded and 419,000 tons were unloaded, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 1.67 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month, which is an increase of 13.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 897,000 tons of container products were loaded and 775,000 tons were unloaded.
Moreover, about 4.95 million tons of goods were exported and 3.18 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.
Also, 398,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 234,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month.
According to the statistics, 788,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.04 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 9th month. Also, 93,400 tons of cargo were loaded and 121,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.
“Over the ninth month, about 45,160 tons of cargo were loaded and 59,200 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
