A total of 43,759 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait (Canakkale) of Turkey in 2019, 14,771 of which were cargo ships, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
As many as 1,242 cargo ships passed through the Dardanelles n January 2019, 1,115 cargo ships in February, 1,264 cargo ships in March, 1,233 cargo ships in April, 1,109 cargo ships in May, 1,334 cargo ships in June, 1,249 cargo ships in July, 1,263 cargo ships in August, 1,282 cargo ships in September, 1,368 cargo ships in October, 1,222 cargo ships in November and 1,200 cargo ships in December, according to the ministry.
The ministry noted that 216 warships passed through the Dardanelles in 2019.
