Demand for Turkish chemical products in Iran dips

The value of chemical products export from Turkey to Iran dropped by 25.2 percent from January through May 2020 compared to the same period of last year and made up $109.8 million, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

In May this year, Turkey's export of chemical products to Iran slipped by 23.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to $25.3 million.

Turkey's export of chemical products to the world markets slid by 17.2 percent in the first five months of 2020 compared to the same period of last year and stood at $7.2 billion.

This indicator amounted to 11.7 percent of the country’s total export from January through May 2020.

According to the ministry, in May 2020, Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to slightly over $1.1 billion, which is 39.1 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.

Meanwhile, Turkey's export of chemical products made up 11.8 percent of the country’s total export.

During the last 12 months (from May 2019 through May 2020), Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to $19 billion.
