Azerbaijan has expressed its interest in construction of an oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan, head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev said at a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov on Wednesday.
Abdullayev said a special group from Azerbaijan will soon arrive in Kyrgyzstan to deeply study the issues on agreements reached earlier, Kyrgyzstan's government said.
In turn, Babanov said the Kyrgyz government will provide comprehensive support and assistance for Azerbaijan's successful investment in Kyrgyzstan's economy.
"We expect friendly Azerbaijan to invest not only in the oil industry, but also in other promising spheres of the country," he said.
