The meeting was held in the city of Sendai, which became the venue for the third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, the statement said.

Ban Ki-moon also stressed neutral Turkmenistan's active position in cooperation with the UN, the statement said.

President Berdimuhamedov and Ban Ki-moon also expressed confidence that the new framework for action for the period after 2015 will further strengthen the positive international cooperation to achieve the goals of global sustainable development and progress.

Turkmenistan has put forward a proposal for the establishment of a specialized structure under the UN aegis - a regional center for technologies related to the climate change in Central Asia.

The Turkmen side is ready to provide the necessary infrastructure in Ashgabat for the center activity.

An important document - an agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations in the Caspian Sea, initiated by Turkmenistan, is being drafted as another example.

It was signed among other documents following the fourth Summit of Heads of Caspian littoral states in Astrakhan in September 2014.
